Bio: James L. Killen Jr. is now retired after 45 years of service as a United Methodist pastor in Texas congregations. He continues to be active in teaching, writing, and prison ministry. Killen’s work has appeared in several publications, including Preaching, Pulpit Digest, Circuit Rider, The Upper Room, and the Abingdon Preaching Annual. He is also a member of the writing team for the online preaching resource The Immediate Word, and is the author of Who Do You Say That I Am? (Smith & Helwys) and Pastoral Care in Small Membership Churches (Abingdon). Killen holds a D.Min. in Preaching and Ministry from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.
